Bhopal is a fascinating amalgam of scenic beauty, an old historic city, and modern urban planning. Bhopal has two separate centers. Spread over the hills to the south of the lakes, the partially pedestrianized New Market area is a mix of shopping arcades, internet cafés, ice cream parlours, cinemas, and office blocks.
Lakeview - The two lakes of Bhopal still dominate the city and are indeed its nucleus. The Upper Lake is the oldest man-made lake in India. The lower lake is bathed in an aura of blissful quiet and tranquility, making it perfect for one of the most picturesque places in Bhopal.
Gohar Mahal is ornamented with intricate interior carvings and beautiful decorations on the exterior. The palace also serves as an exemplary site of the Indo-Islamic architectural style. The great hall chaperones the idyllic lake, while the interiors of the hall host numerous ancient paintings and intricate woodwork and art.

The mosque features a colossal courtyard, adorned with marble flooring, and fine carvings on the pillars.
