Rameswaram DGPS Station which was commissioned on 15th October 2010 is nearly 2 Kms far away from the famous Arulmigu Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameswaram. It is providing DGPS Signal to Mariners upto a range of 400 Kms. It is the only Station under Directorate of Lighthouses and Lightships, Chennai with no Lighthouse inside the compound. The Station is located nearer to the house of Former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
